Gone kayakin’
Spare a day for this most enjoyable of activities. Put on a pair of rubber sandals and sport shorts and a quick dry t-shirt, because you’re going to get wet, wet, wet! Get out your mosquito repellent if you do not want to donate blood, and of course to avoid roasting, wear a sun hat and sun block.
To minimize rowing, the trip starts at Kpg Bengoh and you sail downstream towards Kpg Semadang, a distance of about 10 kilometres and takes about 2 - 3 hours depending on the rest stops along the way and the strength of the river current. For newbies, kayaking is so easy to learn you’d want to join the Sarawak Regatta after the end of the trip.

The tranquility of the jungle will overwhelm you! This is the side tributary at Kpg Bengoh where we rowed out to met the main river Sungai Sarawak Kiri.

Spectacular rock formation along the river makes the trip more interesting.

The kayak is usually a two seater make of strong plastic or fibreglass

Some caves can been seen on the rocks formation but the water level has to be low enough to enter them.

Some small tributaries lead to clear pools and cascade for a refreshing dip, before continuing paddling.”
